Seaford Regatta - Race Report

On 25th July a large contingent of LCPGC rowers headed to the South Coast to compete in the Seaford Regatta against our closest (in distance) gig rivals. What is always a spectacularly fun day was heightened by the success of our crews and the wonderful sunshine.

Our Ladies crew won their regatta, beating Lewes by several boat lengths in the final.

The Mixed crew had an almost photo finish in the second race with Newhaven winning the plate final. 

The Men overcame a leaky Phoenix from a cracked plank to come 9th in a boat that was far heavier than it should be despite best bailing efforts.

Congratulations also go to Claire A and Adam who both coxed their first races for the club.

Also worth a mention is Phoenix’s new very natty cover that made its first outing for this race and gained some admiration at the dock.
